The Hall family have farmed at Sherholt Lodge for 100 years or more. The present farmer, Robert, farms suckler cows for beef calves, breeding ewes for fat lamb production and arable crops.

The farm has been in the Countryside Stewardship Scheme since 2001, and since then a lot of work has been carried out to improve the environment, including grass and wild flower strips around the field edges to provide habitats suitable to encourage wildlife. In 2002, 25 acres of the farm were planted with trees as part of the National Forest Scheme. The National Forest is a forest in the making, transforming 200 square miles of central England. It is a bold project, blending new and maturing woodland within a wide variety of landscapes, presenting opportunities for many to take part in its development.

Robert and family live in the farmhouse, a few yards from the Barn-Store site, and are available to help with enquiries.

We are 10 minutes from Burton-on-Trent off the A38, through Barton-under-Needwood turn right, then along Dunstall Lane that runs to Woodlane on the A515.
